Innkeeper's Dad Takes Flight! #Savannah Gets Visit from #WWII B-17 "Memphis Belle".

SAVANNAH Georgia (November 6, 2013) -- Mid-October innkeeper Jackie Heinz's father took flight on the "Movie" 'Memphis Belle', the B-17 Flying Fortress hired for use in the filming of the Memphis Belle movie in England.

Our innkeeper's dad took flight on "Memphis Belle"
The legendary B-17 was on a short Savannah visit.
On board also was a 90-year-old WWII veteran.
"When I heard the news that 'Memphis Belle' was offering a small number of flights while on tour in Savannah, I conspired with my mother to get my dad on board. During his Air Force career Dad provided maintenance on the B-17s as well as small jets. I was confident he would love this early Christmas present, and he did!"

It was a week when the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force welcomed the 100th Bomb Group, HBO and Playstone Pictures. Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and HBO are producing a new television series about the Mighty Eighth Air Force.

Bill Hackworth thought that he, his wife June and Jackie were only going for a look at "Memphis Belle", located on the flight line near the Mighty Eighth Museum. But, Jackie had purchased a seat for him to enjoy the memorable flight. Sheer joy explodes from the daughter who pleased her dad.
