Lovely, Feeling-Good Places in Savannah, Georgia from Zeigler House Inn

SAVANNAH Georgia (December 18, 2013) -- It feels good to be in Savannah -- a top vacation spot and place to retire!

Happily we take inspiration from Nina Simone, "Feeling Good" -- "Today is a new world, a bold world, you know how I feel...."

Check out Zeigler House Inn's ideas for

are as simple as a private dinner in the

With 2014 approaching, "it's a new dawn". We offer a retrospective on "feeling good" places in Savannah for a "new day", a new trip in Savannah.

Thousands of our guests say it feels good to stay at Zeigler House Inn. It feels good to own a business, study, work and visit Savannah. Who could dismiss the beauty!

This slower pace city is a feel-good place to retire. Located near waterways and on the Atlantic Coast, be inspired with this photograph by John Fulton -- a solo male canoeist paddling on the Savannah River, taking in the historic waterfront. Walking and running are popular physical sports here in Savannah's terrain. The 'forest city" parks, museums and the arts afford a steady stream of places to go and things to do. “Fun, interactive, high energy, feel good moments” is the headline on a Savannah Theatre review.

The farm to table renewal in Savannah feels good, including this art piece by Cedric Smith, Sweet Baby CarrotsZeigler House Inn's innkeeper, Jackie Heinz regularly shops the Forsyth Farmers Market each Saturday morning. On Jones Street our dear neighbor -- same street, same block -- is Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room -- famous for home cooked southern food. The nationally famous seek out the Wilkes' family's legendary lunch.

It feels good to be an American in Savannah. Posted with the caption "A feel good morning in Savannah, Georgia", the photo of the Tunnel to Towers Run is on our Barnard Street corner.  It feels good to stop into Betty Bombers All-American Eatery, located in the American Legion building -- where the Mighty Eighth Air Force originated.  The cafe serves organic, cooked-to-order canteen style food in an upbeat World War II, nostalgic cafe atmosphere. Monuments to heroes are prominent in the city squares and dotted endlessly throughout the city's landscapes, museums, and art.

One Pinterest board is entitled "Ya feel good when ya look good" and certainly the growing number of small boutique shops afford feel good moments in personal fashion.  Savannah's beauty and talent are named reasons for the "You're Welcome Savannah" lifestyle blog that captures Savannah in photo and words authentically, beautifully. The seniors' SCAD Fashion Show is a sold out event annually in May -- a time to witness inspiring designs from a new generation.

Homey amenities, like in-suite kitchens are feel good, private places at Zeigler House Inn on magnificent Jones Street  in Savannah, Georgia USA. Of course, in addition to elegant, historic inn comforts and southern welcome here, you'll find "birds flying high...", "sun in the sky," and a "breeze driftin' on by".

Heading out for a quick treat? Jennifer from San Francisco writes of Back in the Day Bakery in terms of "delicious", "amazing", "epic", and "melt in your mouth", pointing also "The Hazel Feel Good cookies" [are] "unique and amazing".

Innkeeper Jackie Heinz knows more of the lovely, feeling-good places in Savannah. Our bed and breakfast is wonderful place to get your day started!

"Feeling Good" (also "Feelin' Good") - Nina Simone
Written by English singer-songwriters Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the 1964 musical The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd

Birds flying high you know how I feel
Sun in the sky you know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by you know how I feel

It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

Fish in the sea you know how I feel
River running free you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree you know how I feel

Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done
That's what I mean

And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me

Stars when you shine you know how I feel
Scent of the pine you know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
